HEEDLESS - SENTI/MENTAL ILLNESS

A year after Biotic Network, we’re delighted to announce yet another addition to our UNITED series - which for each EP, one member of the GUN community collaborates freely with other artists of their choice.
For this one, it’s a real pleasure to welcome long-time collaborator HeedLess from Italy, inviting over three guests from the contemporary club music scene : DJ GÄP, Lithe & POL100, whose abilities to sculpt sharp, intense and yet sensitive productions have already convinced many labels worldwide.
Senti/Mental Illness is an attempt to describe and analyze the end of relationships and their subsequent evolutions, including the creation of new ones with other people and environments. It results from an in-depth research for sounds and rhythms to illustrate the associated behavioral phases, blending disparate club elements, confused hypermelodic textures, and distorted voices to invite the listener in a deeply personal journey.
After the soft synths and harshly destructive impacts of Pulverem Reverteris, followed by the utterly confusing sonic layers of Collision Course, the EP embraces the conflicting territory of Love Carenza, at once puzzled and thrilled. It concludes with the beautiful BROKEUP, merging running drum breaks with cavernous synths and shouts, emerging back from the depth of the psyche to reach closure and acceptance. More than a cathartic exercise, Senti/Mental Illness is a flesh-flaying rune, providing anchors and support on the way towards maturity and wisdom.
